Traffic Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule dispatching and deliveries including checking shipment availability, preparing delivery orders, bookings with trucking companies, monitoring shipment pickups, deliveries, timely update of all mandatory tracking events to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs
• Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
• Receive, prepare, and relay work orders, messages, and information to carriers and customers
• Confer with customers to address questions, problems, and requests for services
• Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
• Monitor product locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
• Determine types or service according to work orders or specifications.
• Ensure all shipments have been fully released prior to dispatching
• Resolve and troubleshoot discrepanciesincluding identify all billable services and update billing documentation and or systems
• Communicate release information timely to internal and external parties
• Follow-up with internal and external parties to resolve inquiries/service issues
• Develop strong relationship with internal/external customers and understand their expectations on all customer service and performance issues to ensure the delivery of a consistently high-quality product
• Customer liaison providing shipment status, follow-up and answering operational related questions.
• Liaise with service providers, customs, carriers, trucking companies and others as required

Education and Skill Sets:

• High School Degree or GED
• A minimum of 1-2 years Dispatcher experience but no necessary
• A minimum 1-2 years of logistics or supply chain experience but willing to train
• Professional and courteous phone etiquette.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer Professional. Must be able to work in multiple systems such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point,)
